Why should I use a Boot manager? and why zBoot Manager?
Now, many people have big hard disks and want to run several operating
systems in one computer. But normally, one can only install
one operating system in one hard disk. A Boot manager allows you to install more
than one operating system in one hard disk.
zBoot
Manager has its
unique
features besides its advanced features. "So easy to use". This is a main purpose of
zBoot Manager. It only employs some very simple conceptions and on-line help
makes
everything easy. Most people can easily handle it, even though they never tried to setup a
partition before.
In fact, many users can handle it well without reading the readme file. Also "So
safe to use". zBoot Manager has built-in function
to Backup/Restore your current MBR before installing zBoot Manager. After you
setup your multi-boot system, you can also save all settings ( partition table,
boot menu, etc) to a file and restore them whenever you need.

It sounds great, but I have win98 (C:, D:) and some
free space in my hard disk and I don't want to reinstall it. What can I
do?
No problem. Just run
zBoot ( for version before than 2.0, use command "zBoot /a"), zBoot Manager will read your current partition information
and save as one of your systems ( one item of boot menu). You can then add some new to it.

What version of DOS should I use to run zBoot?
You can use the starting floppy disk of Windows 98/Me etc. If you
hard disk is bigger than 8G, you should not use the DOS 7.0 or older version
since they can't support the big disk. One easy way to do this is to make
a start-up disk from Windows, Control Panel-->Add/Remove Program--> Make
startup disk. You can also download a Windows 98 boot disk here. Insert a floppy disk to A: and run it , it
will automatically create a bootable floppy disk.

What is the Sleep mode, and how to use it?
The sleep mode is used to fast boot. If you seldom switch operating
systems with Boot Menu, you can use this mode. It boots your last operating
system without displaying the boot menu. When you want to switch to other
systems, just hold the SHIFT key when it boots, the boot menu will be displayed
for you to make a choice.
To use the mode, set the "Manager Enable" to "Disabled" and "Shift to
Wakeup" to "Enabled".

When I use FDISK.EXE, I can't see all partitions,
why?
After installed
zBoot manager, some users attempt to modify some partitions
with FDISK.EXE. At this time, only partitions of the current operating
system are visible to FDISK.EXE. Creating or resizing some partitions
with FDISK.EXE may cause some data loss because the "free space" for FDISK.EXE
may not be free.

After I setup the Partition List and Install zBoot Manager to hard disk. why can't other programs recognize any partition?
Before you install
zBoot to hard disk, have you finished the step
2 which will actually assign some partitions to a system? After install zBoot to hard disk, you must restart your computer and choose a system
from the boot menu before you can format and install.... At this time,
only partitions connected to the selected system could be recognized by other
program, including Fdisk.exe.

I currently have two partitions, one is primary partition in
which I have installed Windows98, the other one is extended partition in which I
have some logic drivers. How could I install other OS without reinstalling
current Windows98?
This might be the most common situation. With
zBoot V2.07 or later, you can easily
install other OSes on other logic drivers. It can convert those logic drivers in
the extended partition automatically. Just run zBoot, it will add your current
partitions and logic drivers to the partition list and boot menu automatically. You can now check it and setup boot
menu, and install other operating systems with zBoot Manager.

After I install some operating systems, it works fine. But
after I re-install the zBoot Manager( to recover the boot menu) , some errors occur. Why?
When install some operating system, i.e. Windows XP, partition type may
be changed. Normally, it will give you a chance to decide whether you want to
change it or not. If you change it's type here, please update it in zBoot step 1
before you re-install zBoot, or some errors may occur.
